The sky darkens as the titan approaches. Thunderous thumping of my heartbeat is the only sound I can hear. The ground beneath my feet begins to quake. Hands trembling, I swiftly lift my sword. The weight of the blade takes me by surprise, but my newfound strength is ample enough to take away my own breath.
Adrenaline is coursing through my veins, I’m perfectly poised and ready to strike. I step forward, and with a single slash of my sword, the head of the enormous beast rolls to my feet. I stand perfectly still, reveling in the moment. I lay my sword down by my feet. This battle is over.
I defeated the monster, and I’ve lived to tell the tale. I’ll never again be the girl that I was just moments before; I’ll forever be known as a dragon slayer.
