Space Island

On a long Winter’s evening, Santa and his reindeer were flying through some fog. Suddenly, a green light appears in the distance. This beacon was bright and blinking in a way that appeared to send Santa a message. Intrigued, Santa flew into the green light. Suddenly, everything went black.

Santa was stunned. His normally red suit had turned silver. His reindeer had magically transformed into a space shuttle. Quickly, Santa has to learn how to work the controls in this new ride. He’s a professional though, it’s no big deal. After a few minutes, he has it all under control. Amazed, he stares at the universe and wonders how this has happened to him. He puts the shuttle on auto pilot and walks around his new spaceship.

The views are breathtaking. Billions of stars shining right outside his window. He’s taken aback by the beauty of his surroundings. Finally, the ship slows down, and he walks back to his control station. There, right before his very own eyes, lies a planet in the shape of a Christmas tree. In shock, Santa waits for the shuttle to make its landing.

Stepping off of the shuttle, Santa is immensely overwhelmed… What will he find on this unique and mystifying planet?

As Santa steps off his spaceship, bright light from a sun blinds him. He raises his hand to his eyes, and suddenly he feels a familiar touch. Santa’s wife is standing beside him, she brushes his hair off his face and gives him a kiss. This is Santa’s Christmas present. An entirely new life on a foreign planet. His woman has been planning this for years and he didn’t suspect a thing. Man, does he ever feel silly! Santa is thrilled by this surprise.

Mrs. Santa, we’ll call her the queen of Planet Zero, she’s ready to show Santa around. She takes him by the hand and they go exploring. The queen has set up their kingdom nicely. She has plans for everything. She’s a really smart woman, this queen. She’s been considering all of the strategies on how to live a perfect retirement in a beautiful land. She has definitely gotten this all mapped out. It’s going to be a great life for the king and queen. First, she shows him their lovely beach house. It has the largest balcony overlooking the most beautiful sea Santa has ever laid his eyes on.

There’s also a jacuzzi, right there, with a lovely view. Oops, tour has ended earlier than expected for the night. Santa missed the queen and he would like to relax in this beautiful hot tub with her.

After the welcome celebration, our Queen takes a long Winter’s nap. She leads the King of Planet Zero to his new bed. Queen Amber has meticulously picked out all of the softest sheets and blankets. It’s the perfect time to test out this love nest. The King lays down and she fits perfectly in his arm nook. Nuzzling his chest, she’s ready to enjoy her first nap in her perfect home. Looking around as she falls asleep, she sighs out of happiness. Finally, she is free. Free from the North Pole and all of its stressors. Free from a life of servitude. Most of all free from her old way of life.

Today is the first day of the rest of their lives. Drifting off to sleep she finds herself lucid dreaming. Taking a private tour of the island life that the King has yet to see. Her soul flies over the sea, here tangled in her soft sheets, she is finally at peace. One last look at the view, as she falls asleep. The sun is setting over the water and shimmering waves take her off to dreamland.

Waking, hours later, she finds the King is missing from bed. She wonders where he has wandered off to. Looking down, she realizes she needs to find some clothes. Quickly, throwing on a silk robe, she goes into the bathroom to freshen up for her husband. Her bathroom is glorious, Amber is thrilled to spend hours in this room. As she stares into her reflection, she feels peace. Happiness washes over here and she brushes her teeth while planning her day. That is, if there are no surprises laid out, now that her perfect man has arrived home forever.

Today is the day she has always anticipated. The day that she becomes a true Queen of Planet Zero.

Coming out of the luxurious bathroom the Queen is ready to explore the jungle beyond the sandy beaches. Finding her husband sitting at his new kitchen table drinking espresso, she sits beside him. Taking his hand, she softly kisses him good morning. “Would you like to explore now?” …Amber asks.

He smiles and hands her a cup of coffee. The king is very happy with his new retirement home. Queen Amber has accomplished the impossible. She has given this man everything he could ever dream of. Quietly, they enjoy their coffee together, sitting knee to knee. As the Queen rubs her feet up his leg and her long fingers across his face, he is completely relaxed.

After all this time, she’s still the only woman he has eyes for. Now, they live in paradise, alone together. Forever. Maybe the exploration will begin later. Right now, this moment is bliss, and interrupting it seems like heresy.

As we begin the long walk to our new world, the sand sticks to my bare feet. Looking back, I see my own footprints in the sand. My husband’s feet are making bigger imprints in the sand. He notices and I giggle, then playfully take his hand to lead him into our private wonderland.

Nothing matters except this moment. As I surprise him with our own personal oasis, I think about all the hard times. The long nights and the loneliness. The days I can never get back and the years wasted wishing I was somewhere beautiful, exactly like this. That’s why I created this world, you see I am magical too. A woman’s magic is different than a man’s magic. We are able to sense the emotions of others more easily. This planet was created just for us. It is tailor made for the two of us.

I’ve created a space on the beach right outside of our mansion where we can camp. There’s a beautiful love nest made of palm trees and beach grasses. The weather is perfect, always. Rainy days for staying in, and warm sunny days for exploration. We have scuba gear and surfboards. A firepit right on the beach. I’ve created our very own private resort. However, my absolute favorite area is the camping spot. This is where we will spend time gazing up at the stars from our hammock. We even have a rowboat so that we can enjoy surf fishing.

The species of fish and plants on our planet are exotic to us. We have lots of exploring and learning to do, and it’s going to be a great time for us to get to know each other in new and exciting ways. I have already cultivated some of the natural fruits for us to try right away on his first tour.

I lead him into the hut and show him where we will sleep. He looks very pleased, smiling ear to ear. Taking my hand he slowly pulls me into the hammock and holds me. This moment has been long awaited. We’re both truly happy, and nothing can hurt us now. Life will be easier here, and we can finally breathe. Nothing haunts us like back on Earth.

I raise my arms above my head and grab the fruit I stashed in a secret compartment. Feeding him by hand, we try the fruit for the first time. It’s sweet and the juices are sticky. Somewhat like pineapple, but not as tangy. Tropical fruits are all similar I suppose. I wipe my hands on his chest as a joke and he laughs with me. Now we’re both sticky together, time for a swim.

I run to the ocean, and he slowly follows me. No one is here but us, so we’re free to swim in the buff. Stripping naked, I splash around and take my very first ocean bath. He watches me from the shore, a little taken aback. Slowly, he joins and we play together like children as the birds fly around our heads. This is perfection. I have found my peace.

Slowly, I make my way back to the hut and dry off. Putting on only a thin shirt, I sit back in the hammock and we have a conversation about our new reality. My husband is still in shock. He can’t believe this is his life now. Neither can I, it’s like the wildest dream coming true. Slowly, we drift to sleep in our hammock, just for a quick nap.

Night has fallen, darkness envelops us. The fire has died down, all that’s left are embers of burning wood. A long beach walk to a hidden path is perfect now. I excitedly take your hand and we walk down the beach. I have placed a marker so I don’t lose my secret spot. The marker is a beautiful grove of orchids, every color imaginable. Turning behind my orchids, just beyond the palm trees, we find the surprise.

I have carefully placed purple solar lights in the sand dunes. Hanging from the trees, sparkling lights of all colors. It’s a magical rainbow of light tonight. There’s a gazebo, I lead the way. A natural spring hot tub is the big reveal. Beautiful rocks and glowing blue water. Steam is coming from the top of the water. Just beyond, a waterfall in the lagoon.

Taking our clothes off we have a bath. Giggling and kissing, the night is perfect, here under our stars and perfect lighting. I sit in your lap and we hold each other for hours. As we head back to the gazebo I announce there’s one last event. The gazebo is really a place for us to sleep tonight. There’s a gigantic bed filled with pillows and all of the finest linens. It’s heart shaped of course!

We take our time walking under the lights, and finally collapse in my bed of love.

Waking up in our gazebo of love..we find a torrential downpour. It’s so beautiful and peaceful, watching the rain drench my grove of orchids. The rainbow lights make this bed feel like we are floating in the clouds now. We have a decision to make, lay here and enjoy the rain, or we can walk back to our hut. We decide to stay here in this bed for a while, even though we’re hungry. Luckily, I have stashed some fruit and rum underneath this heart shaped bed of mine.

This fruit is just like pineapples.. Hmm.. I know! We can have pina coladas. We definitely have coconuts here, this is perfect. It’s a strange breakfast, but we’re here to make love not war. So, let’s drink and be merry.

We don’t have electricity, we have to smash these fruits the old fashioned way. Ohh no! Now my sheets are sticky. Oh well, the rain will wash it all away. Let’s enjoy these pina coladas and then explore each other’s souls. I love it here in my paradise. Don’t you?
