No Way Back From Here

Falling all the way down

Into the deep darkness

Here we go again, friend

Just try to hold my hand

This trip will take a while

No use in trying to scream

It won’t kill you, you’ll see

It only hurts if you breathe

Soon we’ll reach rock bottom

You’ll be able to try standing

The world won’t look the same

That fact, you’ll never change

The glass has been shattered

We cannot undo that damage

Now, take a good look up above

It really isn’t worth the climb

So, now we’ll just walk away

Leave a cloud of dust behind

I think this was meant to be

The view here is much better

So we’ll just forget everything

We can build a prettier world

Paint it with our favorite colors

This new life was worth the fall

    Wow, what a descent! I’m glad we made it to the bottom – it must have been a lot harder than it seems. I’m glad we’re finally free of this place. I wish we could have seen the view from up here. It would have been a great addition to our new world.
