I am a breeze, rustling through the Autumn leaves.
Crisp clean air that revitalizes the land.
I am a ray of sunshine, blanketing the Earth with my warmth.
Providing the light for all life.
I am the rain, washing the dust of the day away.
Breathing new life into everything I touch.
I am a tree, standing tall above the grass.
Holding firm in my roots, creating a shelter.
I am the sand, simple enough.
Infinite grains creating a pathway to walk the beach.
I am a wave, traveling the vast sea.
Finally, ending my life gracefully against the shore.

Good morning. I want to say that I really enjoyed this poem. It sets right for the season and especially form the true Fall weather we been having in the DMV area. I want to feature this on my poetry corner. I will reblog this post and hopefully others will visit your page and read more of your works.

I’m reminded of the beautiful interconnectedness of nature when reading this poetic reflection. Just as nature provides life and renewal, I recently explored the concept of sustainability and our role in preserving the environment on my blog. If you’re interested in further discussions on this topic, here’s the link to my article: (https://gazesofthelatinsoul.wordpress.com/2023/10/14/resolute-transformation-evolution-and-sustainability-in-brazils-semi-arid-region/) Thank you for sharing your inspiring thoughts on the beauty of our natural world.”

Wow! There are so many incredible lines in here!
Although super hard to choose, I’d have to say that my favorite one is “I am the sand, simple enough”
There is so much we can say about the sand, there is so much TO BE SAID about the sand, but it’s just sand. Simple. While things are complicated and intricate, it just is.

This is what I think
I really enjoyed reading this blog post! The imagery you used to describe each element of nature was so vivid and beautiful. It made me feel like I was experiencing each one myself. I particularly loved the line about being a wave and gracefully ending life against the shore. It was so poetic. My question for you is, what inspired you to write this piece? Dear Ely,
You write very eloquently. I absolutely adore all of your comments. You are very talented at understanding my body of work. I don’t always reply to comments, but you have taken me aback. I must say you are quite a commenter. With that said .. I wrote this poem in an attempt to explore iambic metered poetry. Also, I was experiencing some mental anguish so the poem is about suicide ideation and how the only thing that can cure such an ailment is nature. You are my favorite commenter.. never stop commenting exactly like this. ❤️
Love always,
